Aseret Israel Scholars: Traveling the Ten Commandments

Chai Mitzvah developed the Aseret Israel Scholars program in partnership with Project Aseret, a global movement focused on learning and living with the Core Values of the Ten Commandments, and Israel Experts, a premier Israel travel group. Although Aseret Israel Scholars is ideal for B’nai Mitzvah students and includes some family activities, it can also be used across the board for all ages, including adults. It is specifically designed to connect the values in the Ten Commandments to places in Israel, whether for a trip to Israel, or for a virtual trip.

Each short booklet contains texts and text-based conversations, videos, and activities to do both at home and in Israel. The booklets are available as PDFs with links to additional information. Printed booklets are also available, and they have a QR code in order to access the videos, and additional information from any location. Our sample curriculum includes: a moshav or kibbutz, mosaics, the Kotel, Tzfat, Yad LaKashish, Yad Vashem, Masada, the Knesset, the Hurva Synagogue, and a shuk in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, but Chai Mitzvah can also tailor our booklets to fit your itinerary.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  1. Chai Mitzvah has an instructor who can run the course virtually for any family or group of families who want to prepare for B’nai Mitzvah.
  2. If a school wants to use the Aseret Israel Scholars curriculum for B’nai Mitzvah or any grade, that can be done as well within the classroom.
  3. We have partnered with Israel Experts, a premier Israel travel group trained to integrate the curriculum with places that you will visit in Israel for B’nai Mitzvah trips.
  4. The materials can also be used without a tour guide for families and individuals who are traveling independently.
  5. An Aseret Israel Scholars stipend is available for Aseret Israel Scholar families who take the 10-session class and then travel to Israel and continue the program on their trip.
