Chai Mitzvah is Like a Summer Vacation

by Michalee Merritt

The first day of summer was this past week. Kids are off from school and families tend to lead a slower pace. We plan vacations and outings. We look forward to seeing people that we only see in the summer. We talk about what books to read while we are laying by the pool or on the beach. I happen to read on the sidelines of the baseball field! We stay up later talking with friends and family around the  fire pit.

I can’t help but think that Chai Mitzvah is like a vacation away from everyday life.

In my Chai Mitzvah group I see people with whom I share a special connection. We enjoy meaningful conversations sparked by texts we’ve read, whether at the beach, the fire pit, home, or synagogue.

When I get together with my Chai Mitzvah community I feel recharged and ready to face the day. Sort of like an afternoon at the beach with a good book.

Vacation anytime you want with Chai Mitzvah!
