Donating to the poor and to other social needs is not the prerogative act of especially generous people, but rather an expected act of each and every Jewish person and Jewish community. Jewish law is concerned with meeting the needs of the poor and, at the same time, safeguarding the dignity of those in need. We will discuss this important concept and how our actions can reflect that concept today.
