Tisha B’Av, the ninth of this month, is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, on which we fast and pray. It is said that on this day, both of the temples in Jerusalem were destroyed. The name Av means Father, and the month is referred to as Menachem Av, which means “comforting father,” to remind us that God comforts us in difficult times.
