In 1975, in the wake of Israel’s victory in the Six-Day War, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution slandering Zionism by equating it with racism. The UN General Assembly voted to repeal the resolution in 1991, despite opposition from some Arab and Muslim states, as well as Cuba, North Korea, and Vietnam, but the damage done by the resolution has not been erased.
