The New School Year is Upon Us

The new school year is upon us. Can someone tell me why the summer seems so much shorter when you are an adult? It is a time of new clothes, new shoes, freshly sharpened pencils, and brand new notebooks… Making plans with friends and the new things you are going to learn about.

As adults, maybe we should look at this time as a new school year.

Maybe I will try needlepoint or painting. Maybe I will break out a new cookbook and try some new recipes. I am going to read a different genre of books than I would normally read. There are so many things that I am curious about and want to know more about. Being curious and continuously learning keeps your mind active and leads you to meet new people and see new places.

That is why I love being at my synagogue. It allows me to talk to all different kinds of people, all ages and stages of life. I enjoy bringing people together to learn and have conversations. This is what Chai Mitzvah is all about. Our sourcebooks are full of so much material, which creates amazing conversations.

Maybe Chai Mitzvah is your new thing for this school year! Check out all of our programs!
