It was Thursday night, and we were just wrapping up a wonderful 10XSTRONGER virtual class. The group included both familiar faces and new members, and we were sharing our experiences of what it means to be recognized as Jews today. Some individuals wore Jewish symbols openly, while others discreetly placed the Magen David inside their shirts in certain situations. I imagine that most readers of this blog understand exactly what I mean.
Suddenly, one of our members said, “I just received a text. Israel has hit military targets in Iran!” The group reacted with one voice; we immediately recited Avinu Shebashamayim, the Prayer for the Welfare of the State of Israel.
That moment felt like a defining Chai Mitzvah moment. During these challenging times, we support each other. Every member of the Chai Mitzvah community—whether participating virtually or in a local friendship group, teen group, or family group—is stronger because they are part of our community.
