About Chai Mitzvah:

Chai Mitzvah, a Jewish engagement  program has enriched over 3,500 lives throughout the United States, Canada, and Israel since its inception in 2009. Upon completion of the 9 session  program, surveys indicate that Chai Mitzvah participants continue to be engaged in a sustainable and meaningful way in subsequent years.


Job Description/Responsibilities:

Chai Mitzvah is seeking part time community coordinators in select cities. The Chai Mitzvah  Community Coordinator is responsible for reaching out into the community to help identify groups, provide information about community engagement opportunities, be a liaison between the local community and the national Chai Mitzvah staff, and provide ongoing support for these groups throughout the year.


Key job duties include:

  • Speak with community leaders across the spectrum of the community

  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing community members

  • Work with the  Chai Mitzvah team to develop short and long-term goals and strategies

  • Track number of participants in each group

  • Have access to a desktop or laptop for meetings, administrative duties, and other tasks as needed

You must:

• Possess strong communication skills

• Be able to “sell” ideas, causes, programs, etc.

• Be an effective peer leader

• Be detail-oriented

• Be comfortable speaking to people across the spectrum of the Jewish community.

• Be comfortable learning new digital tools


Preferred Qualities:

• Demonstrated success in building relationships with new organizations

• Have project management experience and / or experience managing others


Training and Compensation:

This is a 10 to 15 hour per week  position. The Community Coordinator will receive training in our work process and communication practices.



$15,000 a year and flexible work schedule; no additional benefits.
