SUMMARY:US CAMPUS IMPACT: Jewish/Zionist Faculty Experiences & Challenges 
 Post 10/7
DESCRIPTION:Since October 7th\, we have amassed considerable data\, testimo
 nies\, and evidence of the harassment\, discrimination\, bullying\, and ev
 en physical assaults of Jewish and Zionist students on our nation’s camp
 uses. It’s all heartbreakingly true. But the intimidation and the threat
 s to faculty is also palpable and often overlooked. Drawing on the Academi
 c Engagement Network’s findings and the experiences of its faculty membe
 rs\, this talk will present the impact of the post 10/7 campus climate U.S
 .-based faculty. Dr. Elman will cover both longstanding and new developmen
 ts at the faculty level and the ways in which professors are standing up a
 nd speaking out—both in support of students and each other.\nRegister He
 re\nDr. Elman is Executive Director of the Academic Engagement Network (AE
 N)\, an educational nonprofit that builds nationwide networks of universit
 y faculty and administrators to counter antisemitism and advance the acade
 my’s principles of open inquiry and free expression. Before taking on he
 r position at AEN in 2019\, she was a tenured Associate Professor of Polit
 ical Science at Syracuse University\, where she held the title of Robert D
 . McClure Professor of Teaching Excellence in the Maxwell School of Citize
 nship &amp\; Public Affairs. An alumna of Hebrew University of Jerusalem (
 BA) and Columbia University (M.Phil.\, Ph.D.)\, Dr. Elman previously taugh
 t at Arizona State University and spent several years as a Fellow at Harva
 rd University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. She
  is an award-winning scholar and teacher\, has edited seven books\, and is
  the author of nearly 100 peer-reviewed articles and essays. In recognitio
 n of her work\, she has been listed by The Algemeiner among the top 100 pe
 ople worldwide who are positively influencing Jewish life. Dr. Elman lives
  with her family in Fayetteville\, NY and serves on the Board of Directors
  of the Jewish Federation.
