DESCRIPTION:Antisemitic and Anti-LGBTQ+ narratives are employed by extremis
 t groups ranging from Islamic extremists and the far-right to QAnon conspi
 racy believers and Incels. By examining the experiences of victimization b
 y extremists\, the talk will offer insights into the pervasive impact of d
 iscrimination\, prejudice\, and explain why such ideologically conflicting
  extremist organizations converge on antisemitic and anti-queer sentiment.
 \nRegister Here\nDr. Mia Bloom is an International Security Fellow at New 
 America and a Professor at Georgia State University. She speaks eight lang
 uages and has authored six books on violent extremism\, including Dying to
  Kill and Bombshell. Her most recent book\, Veiled Threats\, coming out Wi
 nter 2025\, explores the diverse roles of women involved in jihad. Mia has
  held appointments at Cornell\, Harvard\, Princeton\, and McGill\, and ser
 ves on several Counter-Radicalization boards. She holds a PhD from Columbi
 a University and advanced degrees from Georgetown and McGill.\n\n
