Chai Mitzvah can be very effective as a community-wide project. This is an ideal program for an umbrella organization such as a Federation, Commission on Jewish Education, or Rabbinical Association to adopt. During the pilot year in the Greater Hartford area, nine congregations, along with many community agencies participated. The year ended with a community-wide celebration at the local JCC. Chai Mitzvah provides multiple opportunities for collaborative programming and capacity building within both congregations and the community.
