Ritual
As a Chai Mitzvah participant, you are encouraged to take on a new ritual or deepen your existing practice.
Why is ritual important? Our lives in modern times are often filled with a seemingly unending series of tasks and distractions. We can lose our sense of purpose in life while working, paying bills, keeping a house and caring for children. Jewish ritual is grounded in halakhah, which literally means “the path one walks.” It helps to provide a sense of Jewish identity brings the sacred into everyday life and connects us with God.
This is your opportunity to try something new. It may be a ritual that occurs only once or twice a year or one which you will participate in every day.
